First of all we must understand how and when God blesses a man, if we don’t understand this basis we can be destroyed either in thought or physically.
God’s blessing is not for oppressing others nor for amassing wealth, marring more wives etc. God blesses us primarily so we can be a blessing to others.
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Gen 12:1 – 3
If God bless you then you must equally be a blessing to others. Our blessing pattern is Abrahamic order of blessing.
WHAT IS ABRAHAMIC ORDER OF BLESSING?
Abrahamic blessing is a mystery of blessing that entails you to bless others because you are blessed. Abraham was alone when God called him, he was blessed and his blessings permeated the lives of those around him. Abrahamic order of blessing also mandates you to promote God’s plan on earth, this is known as Kingdom promotion. This is by doing what will make people give glory to God, by doing what God would have done. We should always have it at the back of our mind that money that came from God is on assignment for the liberation of others (Luke 6.38)
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
SECRET PATHS TO BLESSINGS
Our Lord Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. The cheapest way to be rich is to always have the mind to do beyond your capacity. For instance, paying someone else children school fees, giving to the poor for business startup etc. Meeting the need of your own children is not a covenant giving because that is your own duty. However when you begin to meet the needs of others then you are on the secret path of blessing.
As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me;
When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;
When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!
The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.
The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.
The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:
Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. Job 29:4 – 13
Tithing is not what brings financial dominion. Tithing is a foundation, yes, but there is more than tithing to be financially free in terms of the gospel of Christ. Other avenues of getting blessed includes giving to one’s parent and the poor. It may interest you to know that by paying tithe you may still end up poor. Why? Because you are not practicing the Abrahamic type of giving that can multiply your riches. To multiply your riches you need to follow what the Psalmist says and reap the reward
Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness Psalm 41: 1 – 3
Stop living for yourself alone, live for others too! Clothe the naked, as a matter of fact any clothes you haven’t worn for more than a year should be given out to the poor, help someone today, forgive a debt, the giver today is a leader tomorrow.
AND HOW DO WE GIVE?
God loves a cheerful giver…, give with a grateful heart, not grudgingly. A grateful heart will connect you to overflowing financial realm.
The person you are helping today may turn out to be your helper tomorrow so give cheerfully
