MY ONE MONTH BIRTHDAY ON STEEMIT
After a month in Steemit it's time to reflect
When I first heard about Steemit, I thought it was another social network, with the difference that in this social media platform you get paid each time you publish or make comments. What I can never imagine is the amount of time it would take, and no, I do not mean just the fact of publishing posts, I mean to get to understand how the social network works.
Despite the countless hours reading tutorials, content posted by other users, use of chats, etc. I still have the impression of being away from knowing how it works. I am still impressed with the amount of new vocabulary used since I am in the network: Steem, Steemit, Steem Power, Steem Dollar, Upvote, Whales, Dolphins, Poloniex, etc.
But the truth is that this was the easy part, after all, everyone can study new words and their definitions but...
Markdown, Gimp, Typora, eSteem, etc.
These words do cost me more than a headache, we are talking about MarkDown editors, photo editing programs, mobile applications, etc.
There is so much poor quality material on the platform so find the right information sometimes becomes a huge task. When a newbie like me thinks that he already dominates something, he finds new and more complete tutorials that show that he is far from understanding how Steemit works; so I do not want to overwhelm you with links to information that I think useful, because I could be wrong, I prefer to leave to the veterans of Steemit that task, they do a great job in the chats.
Anyone who checks my profile will see that I do not have many followers (18-09-2017 only 141) nor do a large sum of money (at the time of making this post $ 6.13)
But there is a fact that makes me feel optimistic about my long-term stay in Steemit; the constant progression since I decided to join Steemit, both weekly earnings, and money per post.
The journey has not been easy, for someone who does not like computers like me, learning to use the MarkDown editor Typora has been complicated. It is still a beta version, so has little problems, but the advantages are innumerable, such as the possibility of making tables simply by typing the number of rows and columns.
But once I knew MarkDown language I started to be aware that I needed an application for the mobile, after all this is a social network, not only a place where content is published, but a place where opinions are exchanged. After several frustrated attempts, in the end, I found one that fit my requirements, eStreem, may not be the best, but allows me to interact with people who comment on my post as soon as they leave their comment.
So far everything is being simple, or at least bearable, the only difficulty is to publish with a certain professionalism. I am aware that to perform this task, to make the post look professional, there are several programs on the market, like Photoshop, but since I do not have enough budget, I am "trying" to use Gimp. I suppose that for young people is a straightforward program to use, but for those who are in their 30's like me, and did not use a computer regularly, Gimp is becoming a nightmare, a lot of hours of loneliness in front of the computer screen.
