I remembered when I had my first breakup back in high school. It is a feeling that I can best describe as a mini-death. I was so devastated, sad, depressed and as time goes on, I learned to accept reality. This feeling is more painful when you are not the one that initiates the breakup. The good thing is that everyone can recover from a breakup, but it takes a great time and mental effort to get over it.
One of the best ways to get over a breakup is to take time out and discuss it with a mature confidant or a therapist. Let them know everything that happened, how you are feeling and how you are going to miss your ex. You can also take a private time to go cry it all out and even scream. It is normal for you to do that, as this will help you feel better.
Listening to music that calms you and reading books about breakups is another way to get over it. Make sure to keep to your normal eating habit and regular exercise in order to stay healthy. Lastly, go out to meet with new people and with time, you will get to meet someone that will make you happy and forget about the past.
