Hello stemians,
I'm Dominik and today I am going to post pictures of my collection of Yugoslavian and Czechoslovakian money from 30-60 years ago. I found all these old bills in pockets of old jackets. On some of them, there are pictures of famous persons like Nikola Tesla, Ruđer Bošković and Josip Broz Tito (Yugoslavian president).
This bill is my favorite. Just take a look at the number of zeros it has, and imagine how rich I would be if it was a dollar or euro bill. This bill was made and used in 90' of past century. You can notice two types of letters Latin and Cyrillic. Yugoslavia was the county with six republics: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. Serbia contained two Socialist Autonomous Provinces, Vojvodina, and Kosovo ( source: Wikipedia ).
Next picture shows 5000 of Yugoslavian Dinar, with a picture of Yugoslavian president Josip Broz Tito. The bill was made in 1985 (5 years after the death of Josip Broz Tito).
Next picture shows Ruđer Bošković (He produced a precursor of atomic theory and made many contributions to astronomy, including the first geometric procedure for determining the equator of a rotating planet from three observations of a surface feature and for computing the orbit of a planet from three observations of its position. In 1753 he also discovered the absence of atmosphere on the Moon source: Wikipedia )
This is a bill that has a picture of Nikola Tesla. I believe you all heard of him and his great gift to the world- alternating Electrical power. He was born in a village that is on the territory of today's Croatia, and he had Serbian roots. Bill is made in 1978.
I also have some Czechoslovakian money from my grandfather that was driving a truck long time ago. These are also the oldest bills in my collection.
Made in 1988.
Made in 1960.
Made in 1964.
Rest of the money is made and used in the end of 80' and beginning of 90' in Croatia.
!
There is plenty of more and in my next posts make sure you follow me, I will go more detail on each bill about its history and meaning. I used my iPhone to take this photos, and I used some info from Wikipedia to give you some side information.
