I prefer XMR because it's core code prevents people from having centralized control over it. It's also more secure and private which was the initial reason I got into Bitcoin. Unfortunately the 1.5kusd i bought when BTC was only 12cents is gone thanks to an enraged lunatic who didn't want me sitting on the computer when he got home. It has since been destroyed and lost. I was still in my late teens then. Still new to the game.
Now though I don't see the point in holding BTC. The fees are too large for small players to be holding long-term. Anot to mention it's centralized. Bitcoin-cash is better. And holding silver or gold is better than that.
Philosophically however I prefer to hodle knowledge, books, skills as these will guarantee my survival more than any coin will in any post-apocalyptic world.
Saludos!
Edit:
As for Epstein using crypto, I find it no different than any other criminal using it for making under the table deals. Privacy is the main goal so I would not be surprised if they use xmr too. Like why wouldn't they?
However I don't think that should be a reason not to use it either for our selves for the same reasons that it provides privacy. I don't stop using s pencil just because some criminals use pencils just as much as I won't give my guns just because they do.
