Saturday Salutations Steemit!
More Charleston area fun led us to Shem's creek pier for the second time this visit, hoping to catch some more dolphin action! Old friends came to town for a visit and the kids were particularly excited by the prospect.
Right off the bat we ran into a very majestic heron,
who must be used to people since he let me get really close...
...before being spooked.
All eyes were glued to the water,
which was a pretty site regardless of marine animal activity.
Gotta love these smiling faces :)
First sighting...tough to capture without a zoom lens, but if you look at the last sailboat next to the little boat house you might be able to make out the fin.
This is also a great place to go crabbing for blues!
And the heron returned, graciously giving me some more closeups...
...and finally more dolphins, just as the sun was going down.
All in all a successful venture!
Now I'm off to the woods for some much needed nature time, hope you have a super Saturday steemit!
