Hello slugabeds, morning grouches and early birds :)
Waking up and going to bed can be much more than just the beginning and the end of the day. It all started with my journey to self-love when I decided to have some positive morning and evening rituals to honor the day and life and personally grow a little bit day by day :)
Here's what came into my mind and helped me to be grateful and appreciate the day and the experiences it brought to me.
I hope you enjoy and the tips help you as well :)
Morning ritual
- When I wake up I stay in bed, try to remember my dreams and think about what they could mean. This helps me to understand what's going on in my mind when I am sleeping and what experiences I have to process. It's also a good way to get rid of nightmares and let them go instead of having them in mind all day long
- Then I welcome the day and say thank you for the new chance it brings to me. I embrace the experiences that life will gift to me and I am happy to be healthy and able to create my life
- To push the positive vibes I count 5 things I am gratful for today
- As I am not really a morning person I listen to some great music for a few minutes up to 1 hour before I finally get up. This helps me a lot to get awake, motivated and full of energy
- I always add something like a short meditation, chanting mantras and positive affirmations like "Life is on my side. I can reach everything I really want. I am the creator of my life. My life is full of love and joy. I am in harmony." (You can also have some different affirmations for success, relationships, or other aspects of your life)
- As the last step I go to the bathroom and smile to myself in the mirror. I know this may sound pretty weird, but give it a try! Most people don't like the reflection of themselves in the morning and look at themselves grumpy and tired. But if you look at yourself happy and motivated you are sending some positive vibes to yourself which encourage you to start the day positive and strengthen your self-esteem
Evening ritual
- Before you go to bed, make plans what you want to do and organize tomorrow. This helps you to stop thinking about the next day at night and helps you to remember all the things you need to do when you wake up
- Make yourself comfortable in your bed and reflect about your day. What have you experienced today? What are you proud of? Did you do something new? What was the best moment? What helped you today to reach your dreams and goals? What did you learn about yourself?
- Close your eyes and listen to your breath. When you breathe in, imagine there is some golden light flowing into your body which is cleaning you from all the negative vibes you may have experienced today. And when you breathe out, all the negativity and darkness inside you is leaving. Repeat this as often as you want and imagine how your body gets more and more healed and cleaned by this golden light and leaves you with a warm and soft feeling which makes you relaxed and tired so you can fall asleep easily
This is my daily routine to integrate some small steps towards self-love and personal growth into my life and it works pretty well for me :)
