Tonight, I am going to enter an empty house, that will stay empty for the entire weekend.
For the first time in 6 years I will be away from my family for longer than a single full day.
There was never a reason to be apart for longer than that.
This weekend however, my wife and kids are going to a holiday park for Grandpa's birthday, together with my wife's sister and her son.
This morning I said goodbye to my wife and kids as I left for work, and I won't be seeing them until mondaynight.
I'm glad that I got a chance to say them goodbye, the kids were junglegym-ing it allover me of excitement over this weekend. They're looking forward to it so much.
So much that they're not sure they're going to miss me.
But, as the oldest said, he's never been away from me this long, so he doesn't KNOW if he'll miss me.
I'll not make it any prettier than it is. It is going to be really weird, coming home tonight to a house devoid of sound and noise.
No running bathwater - They are usually being put in bath and to bed by the time I get home
No running feet upstairs trying to dodge the bullet of having to go to bed.
No 'Daddy's home !!'
No 'Hi Honey' from my wife either.
And that for the entire weekend.
It is going to be weird. Nice for a change (to have the weekend 'off'), but weird, and I am sure I'll miss them long before the weekend is over.
