You can’t turn left or right without running into talks about cryptocurrency.

Today, we had a party in celebration of one of my friend’s dad having turned 65.

It didn’t take long before the idle chat after greetings tearned to crypto.

Now I love my friends dearly, and there is absolutely nothing I wouldn’t do for them. But, the talks are usually either over my head (ie economics and finance and whatever else it is they do for a living), or not to my interest (ie cars & sports)

Difference

How different tonight was.

Because of Steemit, I’ve been growing interested in crypto, being eased in by Steemit.

So when the talk turned, I was all ears.

Finally I could have a conversation with them at the same level and I might even have tought them a thing or two. At the very least about steemit.

Several coins and exchanges and missed opportunities and news (The BCC debacle for instance) passed the revue.

I am really happy that we now have a better common ground. It helps that my life-long friend and brother of Hive account@exyle, Hive account@look4balance, is also a recent Steemian. He invested because of his ‘little’ brother and saw his investment quadruple in december and eventhough he had no inclination, wrote a couple of blogs which are great reads.
