Often times when I post about how israel is committing genocide and should be dismantled, or about how the PoliceStateUSA is murdering its own citizens while simultaneously reducing the freedoms of those they don't kill, or about how capitalism is a most parasitic and cancerous on humanity and the world, I receive, well, not exactly criticism, more like blind hatred from those who are utterly ignorant on the subject.
I have lost friends, been blocked, been banned from sites, and even have had some accounts permanently deleted. Despite all this I continue, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because if I don't, or if I do and I just don't make enough of a difference, the games over anyway. Every single day the police state grows stronger, capitalism keeps preventable deaths from being prevented, and israel tortures and kills more innocents. This kind of evil, yes, evil, if left unchecked, spells out the end for humanity.
You may think that an exaggeration, but look where we are as a species right now, we have climate change creating super storms, a president who tweets about starting a nuclear war, "charities" that steal and a bunch of other shit that pisses me off. But what we don't have is a sustainable economy, clean energy, a stable geopolitical climate, any sign of human unity, or a populace that gives a damn.
Humanity is slowly edging itself off of a cliff. When criminals are needed to protect churches so they can feed the hungry you know the world isn't in a healthy place, and while humanity has never been all good, or even mostly good, this fact was never more pronounced. Ever heard of the Fermi Paradox? Well it it a paradoxical philosophical question which says," due to the age and size of the universe there is bound to be a civilization much more advanced than ours," then asks, "but why haven’t they contacted us?"
Well there is a simple answer gentlemen and ladies, advanced civilizations invariably grow quicker in technology than in morality, which leads to world like our own in which man's inhumanity to man is outmatched only by our own willful ignorance of how harmful we are to everything we exist around. This causes hatred and war, and as we all know more and more frightening weapons are made every day.
The reason I say things and do things despite how I may be treated afterwards, despite losing friends, and being tossed off of websites, is the same reason that we have yet to find life on other planets. Every sufficiently advanced civilization comes to a point where their successful technology meets their failing morality and they destroy themselves, thus ending their own civilization.
But it isn't too late for us. We can still change our ways, rise up against the tyrants who lead us and make a world were we are no longer our own greatest enemy. But it has to start with you, yes you. You have to be the driving force behind the change you want. You want freedom? Fight for it. You want an end to the military-industrial complex? Fight for it. You want an end to institutionalized poverty and inequality? Fight for it.
Fight.
