Pretty great day for the Steem Blockchain today. Smart Media tokens are coming. And what a nice increase in the Steem price. Like I said many times in the past, you just can't time these things.
To celebrate the good news I searched the freezer for food and found a Flank steak. Perfect. Grill Time!
Flank Steak has really long fibers, You can easily see them in the picture. When you cut the steak always cut against the fibers unless you love chewing. I also found some perfect bell peppers and potatoes to eat with the steak. I boiled the potatoes first before grilling them.
I ran out of anything to light the grill. So I turned to a newspaper and some dry wood. It worked. But it's not ideal. Too much smoke.
I used a rub on the meat. It gives a nice crispy outer layer and adds lots of flavor to the meat.
The bell peppers are coated in olive oil and sea salt.
I grilled the steak at 250C/500F. Here I am Flipping the steak on the grill - VIDEO
I grilled the steak for 2x2,5 minutes. I took the steak off and put it in aluminum foil to rest and added the bell peppers.
End result and plating. The meat was tender and juicy. The potatoes had a nice smokey/grill flavor (I did add some mayo later) and the bell peppers taste so soft and sweet when grilled on the green egg. The plating was so-so. But I just don't know how to make it better. This food is what it is.
