My friend Fabio is home alone.
His girlfriend (and soon to be wife) is going back to Brazil for 4 months.
I called him if he wanted to have some beers and cook something on the green egg.
He was up for it!
I still had meat in the fridge from my previous visit to Makro so this time we didn't have to go to butcher Schell.
Bianca and I went to Rotterdam to pick him up because we had to give him some stuff back that we borrowed.
Then we drove back to my place.
On the way, we stopped to buy some vegetables.
I found a duck breast and two beautiful rib-eyes in my fridge.
The vegetables are a mix of, peppers, aubergine, and zucchini.
Because duck breast cooks much slower than the other steaks we had to do some kitchen prep to it. We scorched the fat and pan fried it to reduce the fat a little.
Then it was time to grill. I went outside and lit the green egg till it was 200c. I put on all the vegetables that I coated in olive oil and sea salt and grilled them all at the same time. It took about 5-6 minutes.
Then I put on the meat at 270c. All three at the same time. I took this picture from the top. It's blazing hot in there!
I grilled the meat for about 1-2 minutes per side until the internal temp was 55-60c. I took them off and wrapped them up in foil to let them rest for 3 minutes. In the meantime, Bianca had made a mash and it was time plate up!
I cut in the ribeye first to serve it and it looked great! Later we eat the duck.
End result! Yes! A clean good looking plate full of flavor. The vegetables had a nice char that made them sweet and the meat was nice and soft. Bianca's mash is always good. All and all a perfect meal for a Friday!
