The Steemfest conference days are over and it's now time to spend more relaxing days with fellow Steemians in the beautiful city of Lisbon.
And what a amazing couple days it has been!
I learned a lot about the Steem blockchain and where it is going from now on.
Some things I learned:
A lot of work is going into backend development and that is the type of development we as users will never really see but that is crucial to keep the blockchain running efficiently in the future.
I have spoken to some developers and they said something funny.
"When we work months on something and then implement it and nothing happens (for the user) than we did a good job!" (This could be a future scaling implementation for instance. Not all heroes wear capes I guess. )
I had a hard time trying to find a use case for the mobile wallet until later I learned that they will use it to send push notification too. (I missed it in the presentation). Very useful for security reasons for instance. (push notification that someone has started a power down). They will also further build on this app in the future.
Being so close to the developers is very nice. Lines are so short and you can ask them a ton of questions.
But probably the most important is the feeling of total dedication and commitment from the Steem Team to the Steem blockchain.
They do work so very hard and make long hours to build something that has the potential to reshape the internet.
Something that costs us nothing to use.
As a user I just can't ask for more.
I talk about it more in my blog
Starts @ 1:50.
