The Steemit team is working on their 2018 roadmap and are asking for suggestions from the community. here.

They will also release a mobile wallet app before the end of the year with notifications.

Not sure how I feel about that :)

As you know I am part of Hive account@blockbrothers and we have been building a notification app for a while. I'm running it on my phone and it has increased my Steemit experience a lot.

Hive account@bennierex and Hive account@eqko have been working extremely hard to get this out in public Beta ASAP.
