A striking painting of several ballerinas, worthy of artistic merit or maybe something more inexplicably sinister, buried within the brush strokes and canvas?
This is a quandary that has had us arguing for God knows how many years now. But the breakdown is as follows. Out of the blue, a young lad came knocking at our door in an attempt to sell us one of his masterpieces from a sizeable portfolio. I tried to get rid of him pronto, but when my wife came downstairs and discovered what was going on, she soon became enamoured by his undoubtedly impressive skillset. So, in spite of my understated protests, she purchased these two artworks displayed in the image and decided to hang them up on the wall opposite to where we sleep. Now, whereas she was completely satisfied with the new main attraction of the bedroom, I was less so. One night, I remember waking up in the middle of night. The moonlight shone in from the window to our far right and happened to cast it's luminescence upon the paintings. God help me, but I've never been so scared. It looks ghostly and horrific! As if each ballerina wore a distorted, sneering evil grin. And were watching us! Needless to say, I didn't sleep much that night.
Lol, call me kooky or plain nuts, but something has never sat right about these "show pieces" on our bedroom wall. Thus, we've been contending ever since. Myself to take it down (and preferably burn them out of existence) and my wife insisting that I get over whatever hang up I have and see them for the glourous exhibits they really are. The thing is, I can't help feeling what I do and the fact that these spectral dancers from hell, look down at us every night, unsettles me tremendously.
So, do you also see something almost "paranormal" about these artworks? Or am I just a big old cry baby? :)
