I guess people will always have an opinion on whether or not 2018 was a "good" or "bad" year. Well, crypto-wise, we couldn't have been at further extremes. The start of the year was where crypto looked to be an stoppable beast ready to climb the ladder all the way to the moon whereas we're now seeing it out with a feeble whimper. Alas, the markets have been on the decline since way back at the beginning.
I can mostly retain a positive mindset overall and I must say, I continue to do that going into the new year. The blowout that we all experienced in the markets in just something we'll hopefully look back on with relief several months from now. Who knows? But as much as these prices test your mental fortitude whilst taking you to the edge of insanity, it's as important to keep calm and remain logical in thinking.
It's clear to see we have many obstacles in our way. From global governmental regulation to developmental issues, major problems are evident. But that doesn't mean we won't see them through. Bitcoin will have the full implementation of it's lightening network and Steem will be a more community driven, decentralised project in the making, to name just a couple of positives on the horizon. Always bear in mind that we're just climbing out of the evolutionary sludge when it comes to blockchain technology and especially cryptocurrency. This will take a while for everyone to figure out and come to agreeable solutions that all involved parties are happy with. Patience and discipline are required.
Can you predict where any of the altcoin prices will be this time next year? Literally nobody has a clue. It could be absolutely anything! Such is the speculative nature of the game we're all part of. So just enjoy the ride and know that if you rationalise the potential at play here and invest wisely, you "could" be on to a winner like nothing else out there. I choose to follow those guidelines.
Have a good one, peepz. Stay focused and look to the future. See you all on the other side of this year! :)
