At the highest point of the ancient city is the Temple of Athena. The temple in the first and only dor-order made in Anatolia during the Archaic Period still preserves its fascinating environment. The daughter of Zeus and one of the 12 Olympians, Athena, was the protector of the city. New pillars spilled with sample patterns removed from solid columns. The island of Lesbos, the majestic Aegean Sea, the wind that caresses your face, is so impressive that it will take you to ancient times, especially at sunset. The statue of the goddess in the sacred room of the temple was taken by the Americans in the 1800s.
