So this guy Forrest Fenn supposedly buried a chest of gold and other valuables. The guy is some adventure seeker art dealer and seems to have used this shtick for national press earned media. Wikipedia asserts the guy will recover the treasure when worth $10 million for some reason. Wikipedia also asserts people have gotten very close to the treasure within 60 meters.
There was at least one interesting blog I found of analysis on the treasure. So supposedly Fenn had cancer and decided to make a legacy. But has recovered but still discussing the treasure and promoting it.
Supposedly multiple people may have died looking for this loot somewhere in the Rockies. Somewhere I read it is not in certain states. I have not investigated this enough, but if 4chan and the people who made HWNDU such an amazing once in a generation art installation put its collective intelligence behind it, who knows? Seems like an interesting gimmick for marketing books and stuff, maybe I can use this tool in my toolbox somehow?
If anyone wants to try to find this treasure I'm interested in collaborating, but the poems seemed not to helpful from what I read, but maybe there is enough information out there??
