Thrikarthika is known as the festival of lights in Kerala.It is celebrated in karthika nakshatram in the Malayalam month of vrichikam.In this day all the houses in kerala has decorated by lamps and candle.
In the evening all the houses is decorated with earthen light lambs and torches made of coconut leaves are lifted up and planted in paddy fields.The stem of banana plant were cutoff and decorated with coconut leaves and lambs has placed on it.Speacial dishes made of tapioca,elephant yam and others items with coconut grates is made on this day this and these food were known as Karthika Puzhukku.
Karthika deepam along with full moon night gives a spectacular view for the people.
