Writing has shaped the world and the culture in which we live. He has increased the number of chronicles, poems, fables, and has extended as a miracle the space of its duration.
In many ways the oral literature survives, but it is more vigorous, more easily lasting and transmissible that is written. Oral literature is a literature that does not exist fully as long as it has not been placed in the reader's hands in written form.
Bringing literary works to readers is, at this time and with the rise of electronic formats, a simpler task than that assumed in the last century, however, solving it and carrying it out still implies continuing to publish and edit magazines , brochures, supplements, books; as well as the distribution of this material; continue to awaken the interest of the public; organize well-stocked libraries of all kinds of literature; without forgetting the formation of new and better readers.
And, in our country, the readers of books are very few; There is no better way to promote literature than to multiply readers.
I want to insist that the printed letter is the proper space of our literature: the usual thing is that it is written, published and read. I find it useful to be aware that literature reaches the public primarily in books and magazines, in newspapers and digital publications and other printed formats.
Speaking of literature forces us to take into account not only the writing of a book, but all that intricate network of facts that reproduce it and make it reach the reader, and that include editing, distribution, promotion, criticism, sale , scholarships, awards, relations with the press, radio, cinema, television. If literature worries us, we may well deal with the production and destiny of books and other media that contain it.
The promotion and cultural diffusion is fundamental for the knowledge of the idiosyncrasy, of the history and of the cosmogony of the peoples. Mexico is an enclave with a rich cultural tradition, both ancient and contemporary, that has enriched the heritage of the arts throughout the life of the nation.
In this long journey of the cultural history of the country, from the colonial period to the present, the role of the book has been a fundamental pillar in the educational development and dissemination of knowledge. Even more if we add the industrial production that started around the twenties and where a productive chain is built that marks the progress of the Mexican publishing industry.
From many perspectives, the evolutionary process of the publishing industry goes hand in hand with cultural progress, but also with economic, political and social performance. The threads of the history of the country are tied to the pages of books and magazines that have accounted for the national future.
The production chain of the book and the magazine involves branches as diverse as the graphic arts, the paper industry, the production of chemicals and supplies, etc .; all working so that the reader has in his hands a product according to their cultural needs, knowledge or fun.
