I'm getting ready to leave a job after 10 years and a lot of personal and work related changes.
I am super organised and I have taken some very definitive steps already ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ:
- I have stopped being concerned about fee earning which is very liberating when there are targets all the time;
- I have blown the whistle on some work-place nepotism which is much talked about but no-one has had the nerve to call it out; and
- I have begun the task of decluttering papers and also electronic documents which span over 10 years.
I have had to work from several different locations recently and this will increase with my new job, so I need to learn to rely more on electronic resources and try and "go paperless"!
The task of decluttering office papers has had a knock on effect on my personal life and I have been shredding old diaries. I feel that a new chapter is beginning with my promotion and that by shredding my old diaries, I am looking forward and not clinging to the past. It is rather a cathartic time. ๐
I am hoping to find satisfaction in my new job in spite of it being a rather high pressured role. I intend to focus on the positive changes, not least the pay increase, enhanced role and reporting to a line manager that I respect and trust.
Having a two week break between jobs to spend with my family on holiday in the sun will immeasurably restore and renew my spirit โ๏ธ
