The Morning Tonic Is Cooking
Keeping ourselves healthy without any unnecessary medications is a major goal of our family homestead. As much as possible our goal is to stay healthy and use the food from our garden as our medicine. When not in season or in our makeshift root cellar, then we get what we lack from the Organic Market.
Take a 1/2 Gallon GLASS jar. Do not use plastic.
Add 2 large onions pealed and cut small
Add 4 large BULBS of garlic (that is the whole garlic, not a clove) If you are not used to using a lot of garlic, use less and gradually get your batches up to using 4.
Add 2-4 large hot peppers. I use which ever kind I have. I like Serrano, but use whatever you can eat.
Add 1/2 very large ginger root pealed, sliced and quartered
Add 1/2 very large turmeric root pealed, sliced, and quartered.
Add 1/2 very large horseradish root pealed, sliced, and quartered
Add 1 large or 2 smaller raw beets, pealed, sliced, and quartered
Fill your jar with your vegetables. Then add Bragg"s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother --It will take about 1 and 1/2 large bottles.....Fill to top covering the vegetables. Let stand out of direct sunlight on the counter and shake daily for 2 weeks. Then line a strainer with cheese cloth and drain into another container. Pour into juice jars to keep in the refrigerator. They fit nicely in the side of the refrigerator. Adults take 1-2 tablespoons per day to stay healthy during outbreaks of illness and 1 tablespoon when healthy. Remember is is always smart to talk to your doctor about new things you add to your routine.
Stay Health And Enjoy Life.
