It really does not matter what the distinction is that you choose to make, be it race or religion, language or even football team. Divisiveness has been a useful psy-ops tool for thousands of years.
As if we do not have enough divisions to contend with I recently discovered an individual who harboured a deep seated hatred for anyone with a Negative Rhesus factor blood group.
Yes, I know. Bizarre isn't it?
I gathered, from his garbled hysteria, that he considered me (the bearer of this blood) to be "spawn of the devil, Satans daughter and related to Moloch and BAAL", intimately, no doubt.
I offered to help cure him of his strange ailment but he was having none of it, claiming that I was the one who needed healing.
He seemed to believe that a special diet and a raft of toxic herbs would transform my "bad and negative blood" into something more acceptable to him!
I pointed out that, as a herbalist, I was fully aware of the power of the formula he was advocating and that, should I be idiotic enough to prepare it, I would certainly die of poisoning at my own hand. Murder by proxy, being his only hand in the crime.
Having driven the poor deranged fool to hysteria I decided that as he was actually threatening my life I really ought to block him.
I recount this event as an illustration of how easily the misinformed can jump to all the wrong conclusions and immediately set about abusing just about anyone for any reason.
The next thing I expect to be dealing with is prejudice against people over the age of 60.... or maybe prejudice against people who can type..... or maybe prejudice against people who dare to challenge prejudice.
Who knows what it will be next.
