This might feel like a strange topic on Steem, since we do sometimes have strong opinions related to some sensitive areas on Steem, and we often express them in public. Which might seem to the outside world like we're bashing Steem, when we're pointing out to the shortcomings of a solution compared to another.
But most of us mean well with this. We want Steem to be better. We just see things differently sometimes. And most of the times we come to an agreement or the issue is left aside until its time to be resolved comes.
What I'm referring to by "washing your dirty laundry in public" is more on the lines of uncalled for trash talking.
I know we are surrounded by that. From the tabloids to the TV shows, from movies to politics. On social media of course! Have you noticed it at work? How about at a beer with friends? At parties?
It's a cultural shift, and it has nothing to do with one's location on the map, because it is happening worldwide.
And I'm not talking about washing your dirty laundry in public as a way of asking for advice from close friends or the 'collective mind', but more like unloading it to others or even worse, making it out of habit.
I don't know, maybe I'm from a different movie, but trash talking my family, my relatives, my birth town/area, the town/city where I live or the country where I was born/was raised/live, is not something that I would do. If for no other reason, then for the fact that everyone on this Earth is imperfect. Including myself and the people that will read/hear/see what I have to say. I might make an exception every once in a while, but unlikely as a permanent record on Steem, to scrutinize or trash talk public figures (like politicians).
How do you see washing dirty laundry in public?
