This is a great place to do exactly what you say you will, or want to, and of course you can maintain your anonymity as well.

I've been around for a little while and what helped me is the few points I list below. Just my thoughts mind, and not what I suggest you do. That's up to you.

• Write passionately and about what's interesting or important to you
• Engage with others politely, with validity and interest
• Always respond to replies left on your blog (bots excluded)
• Write as well as you can from a grammatical, punctuation and spelling perspective
• Credit sources, text and photos
• Select the right tags for your posts
• Engage with others politely, with validity and interest
• Try and have fun, make your enjoyment the reward, not the financial aspect
• Engage with others politely, with validity and interest

Obviously I see engagement as a key factor here.

Anyway, I'll leave it there, other than to say I curate for Hive account@curangel and have sent this post...It goes against my rules as normally I wouldn't send an introduction post preferring to see how the person's blog develops first...But something about your blog made me feel inclined to do so.
