Remember the Nigerian emails, where you would receive an email that had many variations but in the end it just came to the assurance that you had won or inherited big money? I don't know how many people fell for this, it was quite easy to see it was a scam, you know, why would you be picked out of millions of people to receive money from some person or organization you had never heard of?
Well I got one of those today, just that it came supposedly from Empowr which has a coin and is now sending mails to a lot of people, and you know it does sound not so unreasonable, it could be they picked you as one of the winners of a Grant, I mean I am on Empowr's list (wonder if they hacked the list), I don't fall for that kind of thing because as soon as they ask for money I am out of there.
What I think gives them away is that they give their email address as a gmail address, which I think is kind of unprofessional. Also they will always ask for money to send this money via a courier, why not ask for a bank account, or in any case pay for it from the winnings?
Well I guess I am just talking about this because I wouldn't like anyone falling for this, also I guess these con-men are now targeting the crypto world for their scams. Unless of course it is true and I am throwing away $700,000.00.
