My son is almost 6 years old and learning to read and write. He picks a new letter that they are learning at school and likes to think up words starting with that letter and write them out.
This week he is learning the letter “O”.
He started writing a few words and then writes the word “Offspring”. I asked him what that was (knowing full well myself). “It’s a band” he tells me. Now this makes me smile. Anyone of my generation that listened to any Rock or Punk type music will know the band Offspring well. They were one of my top bands for a good number of years and I still love listening to their crazy drums and guitar riffs.
“Oh” I said to my son “what song do they sing?”. He thinks for a second and sings in his best impersonation “Gotta keep ‘em separated!”. He just never ceases to amaze me at what he can remember and recall. Kids are just too funny!
Thanks for reading.
