My husband announced this morning he had counted the rings on the catalpa we cut down and there were 33.
Another angle
I thought that was odd as I’d planted the trees around 1985 as 4’ saplings….
Maple stump
Catalpas are very fast growing trees, so the rings are easy to see. The maple stump, planted the same time and the same size sapling, is much smaller. The rings are hard to see.
The Echinacea paradoxa from the Ozarks is flowering and nearly 6’ high. I am so delighted with this plant!
