When i was traveling in Cyprus, i also visited Kyrenia ship museum in the Kyrenia castle. This is the ship that is the oldest in the world ever brought out of the sea and put out for the people to see. This ship was first launced in 389 BC (+-44) and supposedly sunk 288 BC (+-62). Ship sailed on Mediterranean sea in a lifetime of Alexander the Great and was used to transport cargo and for fishing as well because fishing equipment was found with this wreck. It is preserved so well because it had something to do with the place it was sunken in, conditions were perfect for wood not to decompose. Photo is not the best quality because it was made with GOPRO, it was actually not allowed to take pictures there >D
Ship was discovered by Greek-Cypriot diving instructor Andreas Cariolou in November 1965 and brought to the surface in 1970. It was really awesome to see history like this!
If you would like know more information about this ship then you can read Wikipedia page of this.
