Every summer here in South Italy we have to face the enormous problem of fires. But this summer has turned just apocalyptic.
Today we counted only in my region, Campania, over 100 different all around fires. The biggest is no doubt Vesuvius's one. The big neapolitan volcano is literally entirely burning down. Fire is destroying everything from the peak to the base, that's one of the most populated areas in Italy.
I live kinda far from the Volcano, at ca. 30 km (17 miles), but that's the scenario I'm facing.
That's the bloody sky created by the ash pillar:
This is the fire seen by other perspectives:
It's literally raining ash:
The rest of Southern Italy isn't going better, this is the dramatic situation in Messina, Sicily:
!
The sky is nearly filled of smoke. We can barely see the Sun, that looks kinda bloody. Air smells of burnt and it's nearly unbreathable. It looks like Apocalypse day. And it's all far to be solved, it can get only worse. I hope it will be better, but here we don't have the means to face such an emergency.
Hakiros.
