Life is complicated. It has so much to it. Different types of poeple. Various kinds of personality. Multiple dimensions of human existence. A human being has physical, mental, spiritual, and emotionals sides. We see one or two of them and never get to know the underlying pains and disturbances.
Life's complicated but, contrary to the common belief, life is not a bitch. Life is a gift which enables us to chose our values and guide ourselves to greater destinations. It is a combination of success and failures.
Success in Life
Defining success itself is a difficult thing to do. But generally, achievements of our goals is thought to be success. Only till goals are achieved and the gap appears for new goals. The feeling of success after accomplishment of goals is weak or nearly absent. We start thinking about new targets too soon.
In actuality, success is doing meaningful things consistently in your life; things which bring you satisfaction. No number of worldly posessions or amount of money can bring you the feeling of success if what you do is meaningless to you.
The video below is a TED Talk by Robert Waldinger, who explains the secret to a good life and happiness.
Your life is full of success stories. There are dozens of important and significant things that you wanted to accomplish. You had a dream; a vision of what future would be like if your deepest desires were fulfilled. And many dreams came true.
Failure : Key to Success
Failure always brings a useful information; that this thing should not be done this particular way. It stresses the need to alter the strategy, change the process, think of a different way. It is said that Thomas Edison failed hundreds of times before becoming successful in creating a bulb. Even if he failed thirteen times, he knew thirteen ways which will lead to failure.
Watch the following TED Talk by Tim Gibson to see how failure actually is a form of success.
No great success in life is independent of failures. In fact, failure is the foundation of success. Talking about foundation, when a building is constructed, foundations are always hidden below the ground. They are not visible. The only thing visible is the shiny house that was built upon those foundations.
But can we negate or dismiss the importance of foundations in a building? No one will say yes to that. If success is a building, failures are its foundation. Think this way about all your setbacks, disappointments, and failures. Then see which success in life was actually powered by a dangerous looking failure that preceeded it. You will find the connection.
Conclusion
Life is full of success stories and failures. But both are interconnected. Success often, rather invariably, originates from failures. Lesson for us is to cherish our successes but also appreciate and accept our failure. Because...
Failures are the key to success.
