It is said that some people are born more introverted, and others are born more extroverted. The introverted personalities wait for the world to come to them. They dont try to socialize or make new friends. They dont want to come out of their comfort zone and have fear of social rejection. They mostly mistake loneliness for something else like sadness or stress. They just dont find the courage to admit that they are lonely. It is not shameful to be lonely, but it is a big shame to accept it.
Loneliness feels like being empty inside when you know you have so much to offer. It consumes you entirely, thoughts after thoughts, anger, fear, emotions in a whirlpool yet the heaviness. It starts with depression until slowly you give up everything and surrender. You become too passive and stop making contact with other. You wait and wait... Days, weeks and months pass; while you still wait for others to come into your life. Nobody comes and knock on your door and you realize it "You are Lonely". You start telling everybody you meet that you are lonely and start accepting it.
You can have dozens of friends and still feel lonely. Or you can isolate yourself because you prefer to be alone. It remains your decision and a state of mind that you chose. You are the only one who can change it, because waiting for others might take long or never happens. Persistent loneliness is not only emotionally painful, but can be more damaging to our physical and mental health than many psychiatric illnesses. It can cause stress, sadness and sleep disorder. Loneliness is an enemy, if you dont fight it, you loose everything...
