Mereweather Ocean Baths are a popular Newcastle swimming spot. As the sun set on this chilly Autumn afternoon there were only a few brave swimmers taking on the cold salt water.
Over at Bar Beach however there were surfers out in force, clad in thick wet suits and enjoying the waves.
Me on the other hand. I was perched on a rock ledge looking out over the water. Dressed in warm clothes after knocking off work, merely enjoying the scenery. This beach is located on the east coast of Australia, so as the sun sets in the west it cast long shadows out over the water.
I snapped a few shots trying to get artsy with it. I like how the smaller, calmer pool doesn't face as much wind. This leaves its surface smoother and a different tone compared to the larger pool. The waves crashing into the rocks that protect the pools looked nice too.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my view for the afternoon. I took these with my Nikon 3400 and did a little editing to make them stand out :)
