We live near the PNE fairgrounds in Vancouver BC, and as a benefit of that we are gifted four entry passes per year. Last night we used two of them, mostly to see a band from the late 70s early 80s, the B52s. Here I am rocking out with the #RockLobster
My wonderful and beautiful wife Bonnie and I agreed to see this concert, because of my current teaching schedule. Had I'd have worked it out better, I would have gotten to see two other acts that I also wanted to see, ZZ Top and the Doobie Brothers. But alas, that was not to be due to poor planning.
In any case, I have to say the B52s delivered like nobody's business. In my opinion, there are really 4 songs they do that are very well known, and they have some other lesser known selections, but of those the most staunch fans would recognize. The four well known pieces I mention are (and the order in which they were performed over the course of the concert) Roam, Love Shack, Planet Claire, and Rock Lobster.
In between their known songs, the group totally kept the energy of the crowd up with their unique brand of punk/new wave beats. They always had somewhat of a cult following, and from seeing them live I can see why.
I love date nights with my wife, and this one was a lot of fun!
WARM HUGS!
