Ever since the start of lockdown on March, I only got out of the house only once. But after that, just can't since the lockdown got stricter.
Last month, the government started the general quarantine which means less strict and implementations of the "new normal" started but only those who have important things to do outside are allowed to go out. Even if I had times when I really need to go out and I think my purpose falls for the "essential" things to do, I still didn't risk going out because I don't have a pass. So I just got stuck inside the house for months.
It was earlier when me and my dad went to the mall to buy a laptop. I needed to upgrade mine so my old one can be given to my brother since he will start online classes next month.
Outside felt a bit like a normal day. There were quite maybe 50% less cars outside than the days before the lockdown, but that's still many considering many are still working from home and students are having online classes.
Even though we are having a general quarantine and most shops are open, cases are still increasing and we are not flattening the curve because I don't fucking know why.
Public transportation is open and the photo above is what we call a jeepney. Usually, it's packed with passengers like we really sit beside each other. To lessen the possibility of transmission, the government implemented the "one seat apart" rule and that jeepneys need to have a partition in between passengers.
Most of the shops in the malls are open now so they have to be strict with their rules. They put a lot of markings indicating where to walk, stand, etc..
Inside, the mall is probably occupied by 15-25% than the days before lockdown. There were shops that were closed too. Those who've decided to stop their business or those who really can't operate cos there's gonna be a lot of interaction like arcade or other similar ones.
Food services are open but they have to limit the people they serve at a time and have a wide distance between the customers.
Laptops and PC sets are selling out really fast which is expected cos of the online classes. I actually just decided to buy a new laptop the other day (hence the lack of activity on the chain) and spent my two days researching for the perfect one to buy (budget + specs).
I had to call the store to reserve the laptop that I'd like to buy cos I got worried when even in online stores they are selling out fast.
When we got to the computer section, there were indeed people who were inquiring about computers, peripherals, RAMs, etc.
Each stores have also made their own rules and provided hand sanitizers and alcohols for the customers to use.
I wish I took more photos especially to show how much people were inside but my phone died cos I didn't charge it before we left lol. I was able to buy the laptop and was happy I was able to see the outside world again (Isolation is really bad for my mental health). :D
