Let me start this by saying you guys know me. I’m not one of those prissy feminists who start bawling whenever a guy yells something on the street . I’ve seen a lot of women complaining, even calling it harassment. Anyway, I don’t think it is, but that’s not the point here.
So, you know I’m not like that. But I do have one curiosity, for the guys really. What’s up with the honking?
See, right next to where I live, there’s a strip of road that leads to a supermarket. And it’s quite close, so I usually walk it. And let me tell you, I’ve never gotten as many honks as I have on that paltry strip of road. And the weird thing is, it happens even when I’m not looking all that great. I mean, at times, like yesterday, I get it – tight jeans, leather jacket, blonde girl… makes sense, I suppose. But then, I’ve gotten honks while wearing baggy jeans, no make-up, unwashed hair, loose band shirts etc. And I no longer understand that.
And anyway, my question is – what do these men expect? Really, what do they think will happen if they honk their horn after a hot woman? Because they always turn their heads to see if the girl reacts somehow, if she looks at them or something. I mean hell, yesterday it happened with a guy driving that sort of machine used on building sites to scoop up dirt. And he was like fully turned in his seat to see if I reacted. Dude, I really think you should keep your eye on the road when you’re driving a thing like that.
When you’re driving anything, really.
I want to know how many loves, even how many hurried sexual encounters resulted from a guy honking after a girl? One, maximum. I’m pretty sure. What’s the idea – that the girl will recognize what an attractive male you are and decide she must have you then and there, on the side of the road? Come on.
How many crazy orgies resulted from a honk?
Do they expect the woman will take her top off in reply? Again, how many times has that happened? I’m guessing maybe it happened to one guy – or more likely, he made it up to sound cool – and it somehow then made the rounds and now, all the boys know about it and are trying anything to get the same.
I just don’t get it. It’s very stupid, very infantile behavior.
I don't want comments about feminism and about how crap men are. It's really not a subject that interests me, definitely not this male-persecuting kind that's so popular these days. So please, just don't. Instead, I would like to hear ideas about why you think this honking happens - what's the logic there?
