Who are the Berserkers
The Berserkers are a group of Steemians on Discord who are hungry for success and who want an alternative to the conventional boredom and rules of societal expectations AND are also determined to improve themselves daily, whatever life decides to throw at them.
Where I see the Berserkers at the End of 2018
I decided to take a literal look a look at where I see the Berserkers at the end of 2018, as I love to use my imagination and be creative.
I am saving myself for the meetup of the elite few that have held on by the skin of their teeth to prove and improve themselves daily.
What I mean to say is, at the end of 2018, when the team meets up for their first celebratory fingers up salute to society, because we are doing nicely with Steemit and don't need bosses or dependence on anyone else for our paychecks, government or otherwise, I am saving myself to try a nice glass of 43, then some mead, then some 43 again!
As long as someone remembers the milk.
Yes, by the end of 2018, I see the members of the Berserkers having achieved financial freedom by sheer determination and steadfastness, so there is no better reason than to meet up and celebrate our many successes.
We will have made improvements to other aspects of their life too, like taking care of themselves (diet, sleep, health), maintaining a clean and tidy home and we will have developed better habits and optimized our productivity.
So it would be time to celebrate like it was a century before 2018, imagining how the Vikings might have partied if we dare...
A Berserker Party
Live up to our name - Berserkers
Actually, we don't need to imagine, just do a little research...
Well first, the celebration wouldn't just be for one night, but at about 12 and as it is the end of the year, we could use the party to both celebrate the winter solstice and the sheer supremacy of the group in the Steemit world.
So there will be lots of good food, different types of meat and vegetables cooked in butter and the mead, beer and fruit wines in copious amounts.
It sounds like I wouldn't have to worry too much about being tone deaf as Viking live music was a feature of parties and is described by Viking outsiders as like the calls of wild animals. I'm pretty sure my singing has been called worse over the years. Maybe more like an owl.
They also had people called Skalds who recited poetry in a manner that apparently sounds like Scandinavian metal.
Speaking of poetry, Vikings used to like Flyting, which is reputed to be like a poetry drinking game, that would be a bit like a rap battle these days, telling of adventures and bravery and roasting (in the comedic sense) their competition in poetic form.
The party would involve getting progressively more drunk day by day and the Viking games getting more and more rowdy and rough, so much so that it is highly likely that there will party casualties, especially with games like holding people heads under water for the longest amount of time, full contact bat and ball game and throwing bones at each other to cause each other pain whilst very drunk - what could possibly go wrong?
And sometimes they would offer a human sacrifice to appease the Gods.
Info gleaned from 11 Wild Facts That Prove Viking Parties Were Among the Wildest in History
Okay, it may not be the wisest of ideas to go the full Berserker party mode, as the world might not be ready for that part of history again (and I'm a real lightweight and will want to see my children again at some point).
But a celebration will be the order the day at the end of 2018 for the Berserker team and I won't mind lifting a glass or three to Odin for the advice and wisdom passed on through .
And there are openings if you are Berserker enough...
