Doesn't that sucker almost look like a spider? It's the black legs that does it, I think. Chances are you've had an encounter with a Bumblebee before, or a similar species of bee.
I've never actually been stung by a Bumblebee (an amazing feat in itself). It has been the honey bees that have nailed me, one time in an excruciatingly painful spot.
Ouch! A Honey bee stung me inside my ear. Dayamnnn, ooooooiiiieeeeee it hurt so bad. :(
How The Hell Did A Honey Bee Get In My Ear?
Alas, I knew you were going to ask that question so here the story goes.
He was giving me a ride home to drop me off after whatever we were doing. I can't remember what we were doing as the following event would erase it from my memory.
My friend was coming up to my house, slowing his truck to stop in front of the driveway. Before we came to a complete stop, the honey bee flew in the window, in my ear, and stung me.
I swear to all that's holy I didn't even know what hit me at first. Let me bee clear (lol). The bee didn't just sting me in the ear, it flew in my ear hole and stung me on the outside of my drum.
F..k, s..t, d..n, f..k, f..k, and f..k again!
Translate that and you know my exclamations.
As you can probably imagine, the pain was instant and so were the tears. It wasn't the kind of crying you can help, more siphoned tears drawn forth out of agony.
Out of many Honey bee stings growing up, that experience was the worst.
Javier Is Allergic!
I know some people are allergic to bee stings and they can be deadly serious. Javier is a guy I used to work with and he is allergic to bee stings.
He got stung on the ear at work one day, but on the lobe. You know the part that most people pierce. He said that he barely even felt the sting, but his ear started blowing up like a balloon.
Javier also told us that his sting reactions were getting steadily worse, a fact I wasn't aware was possible. So the sting was a concern and Javier had to leave work, even though it didn't hurt.
Quick Last Story About Mr. BUMBLEBEE
I made mention earlier that Bumblebees never got to me, though it wasn't for a lack of trying. They may have been trying to get me, or I may have been trying to make them want to get me.
Bumblebees are like most flying insects, and the sweet sugar of soda and other snacks beckons to them.
Most memorable were the times friends and I would play Smashball. The Bumblebees would become pests, so we would smack them with the Smashball paddles.
This would really piss a Bumblebee off, I kid you not. I'd think we got rid of it, but Bumblebees are smart. When we smacked one, it would return a few minutes later with reinforcements.
When 10 - 15 Bumblees start buzzing you like Kamakazi fighters, Smashball is over. Running towards the water with arms flailing wildly around begins.
