When I was a young girl, there were lots of cowboy programs that were popular on TV, so of course I thought being a cowgirl would be all the rage. Here I am, in all my glory, cowgirl outfit, hat, boots, gun & holster.... the works !
I'm pretty sure I had a red cowgirl outfit after this one.
Although I don't remember it personally, I am told I wore my cowgirl outfit to school on my birthday in the first grade and danced for my class. I must have been feeling pretty darned good, because doing a one girl show on stage has totally not been me since then. It may have been the only solo performance I have ever done in my life.
Something reminded me of this a couple of weeks back, so I hopped over to ebay to see if I could find an old friend and amazingly I DID ! Just seeing the picture on ebay, my hands could already feel the way my toy felt in my hands..... all those years ago.
The box got here a couple of days ago, but I just opened it up this morning. From the way the seller customer boxed it, I thought it looked like I had ordered a rifle !! ..... but no.
I was excited and couldn't wait to see it. The box had lots of tape and I had to make myself be patient and careful.
Finally..... there it was ! My faithful horse....... warm fuzzy moment
Sure.... it has a few blemishes, but it is amazingly well kept to have survived since the 60s. I had more than one of these too, maybe not at the same time, but there was a version that was black, where this one is brown. It is making me very happy to see it across the room..... happy sigh
I was quite the rider back then. 🙂 I'm sure you would have been impressed with my skills.

It is rainy and gray here today and I can hardly believe it is after noon, but I have perpetual morning syndrome, since it is so gloomy and it feels like it should only be 7 a.m....... or there abouts.
Because of that, I am still in my nightgown. Why dress to pad around doing indoor things.... right?? Why does that matter about this story you say???.... well..... it means I haven't ridden the horse yet. I'm sure you know though, that once I finally do put on some normal pants, at some point, I will have to take a little gallop around the place. 😍
