Baguio City has been long established as the City of Pines and the Summer Capital of the Philippines. It has been given again with a new moniker - The Cloud-Kissed City.
Baguio’s cool climate is always a welcome respite from the lowlands' heat and humidity any time of the year. Like other hill stations, Baguio is a university town that boasts one of the Philippines’ largest student populations (a quarter of a million!), and is also a crossroads between hill tribe culture and lowland settlers. For most travellers, Baguio serves as the primary gateway to backpacker bliss up north in Sagada, Banaue and Kalinga.
