If you ask me what’s the toughest thing in life is, I’ll say ‘letting go’ but at the same point, if you ask me what I love the most, I’ll say ‘change’. Human life is quite complicated, we love things we possess, even a mare think of losing them leaves us agonized. Irony, however, is that we all are not only prone to change rather love it as well.
Without change, our lives would become like the still water with rotten smell. We let go of so many things on everyday practice without even noticing it. Like Elizabeth Bishop says, ‘Mastering the art of losing is not too hard as though it may look like’.
Here’re a few things to keep you out of the blue air whenever you lose something making you more determined.
⦁ Keep Up With Hope
Hope it what keeps us going on the crooked road of life. Emily Dickinson, the American poet, said that: "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all.
If you have a few things to let go of, be it a habit, a person or a thing, what you should focus on is to never give anything/anyone control of your life. Talk to yourself, and ask yourself a question, is anything in life worth enough? The only person that truly deserves the key of life is none but you. Have a glance inside you and look around yourself. You will see everyone quite happy, driven in their ambitions with high hope. The only factor they stick on, in pursuit of happiness, is having control entirely, forgetting the things behind that make them sad.
⦁ Don’t Dwell in Past

Dwelling in past, unless it’s for learning, is always dangerous. You dwell in past only when you are afraid something good cannot happen again. What you need to tell yourself here is, if you have had good things in the past, you will get them again. A greater part of the problem is, we become comfortable in painful present than daring to step into uncertain change. Fear of the unknown overwhelms us.
You can talk a good prep talk from Paulo Coelho here who says, “If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”
You need to stop hiding behind the comfort zones and discover who we truly are. Remember, change happens only to those who are brave enough to step into an unknown, uncertain hoping of good.
⦁ Start Thinking of What You Should, Not What You Think You Should
It’s only you who could truly give you a real-time accountability of what you should do and what you think you should. Having a need and having to think what you need are two different things. Its right them you start pondering upon your actions and stop getting dictations from your heart. It has its own ways of tricking your mind, making it think what it wants to.
Life isn’t an illusion, its reality. In reality, you need to focus on what’s real and not mere delusion. The truth of the matter is, we all at some point have to let go of certain things to make it more realist. The moment you start focusing on what you need instead of what you think you should need will be the moment, letting go become a will for you.
It is not the change you should fear, but having never to step into it.

The only way you could get rid of seeking a perfect life is embracing your imperfections. We assume having everything done perfectly is the only key. The truth is quite contrary. The pursuit of perfection often leads us to ignore the failures and beautiful imperfections of life. It makes you paranoid. The moderate way is to have a glance on your failures, analyze the reasons and let go of it. Initiate something new.
If you dwell into such kind of situation, consider this an opportunity of mastering the art of letting go. The path to success is moderation not perfection. As do ancient Asian folk stories say, ‘If you pull the string too tight, it will snap. If you leave it too loose, it will not make music. So is the path to growth and contentment’.
Lastly, never undergo disappointment ending up broken hearted. You cannot disrespect caterpillar and rave about the butterfly.
