Today I met with some local ex pats here in Acapulco. It was a fun meetup with good conversation and good food. I really enjoyed discussing the local area and my plans. Of course, the question of what I was here to do came up and I discussed some ideas I have related to jiu jitsu, bitcoin, anarchapulco, some websites, etc.
I decided to head down to the beach to cool off afterwords. I didn't even make it to the water. At all. I spent about 1 hour talking to a group of young ladies and men who surrounded me right as I arrived.
One girl walked up to me and asked if I spoke Spanish, and I replied a little, but not very much yet. She asked if I knew English. I wasn't sure what she wanted because so many of them started to walk up after her and they were all smiling and laughing. She wasn't trying to sell me anything, which is what can happen a lot in these scenarios. Her and her friends wanted to practice their English!
It was a very fun conversation where we discussed what our names were, where I was from, if I was here with my family, if I was married or had a girlfriend. One young lady complimented my blue eyes, and another girl wanted to hook me up with her aunt. It was very light hearted and fun. They asked what I thought about Acapulco and why I was here.
I told them I quit my job and moved here because I love Acapulco and the people and I have some plans here. I asked them if they had ever heard of bitcoin. They all said no. I asked them if they used social media such as fb, Twitter or IG. Of course they do, they are in high school. So I told them as my Spanish gets better I plan to teach classes to people their age on the importance of the internet, digital currency and how they can earn on social media.
Some of them asked to add me on FB. We'll see if they do. If I get the invites, I'm going to host a Meetup to teach them all about Steemit and the apps they can use to earn.
They were so full of life and energy. They made me feel welcome. They wanted to practice English. They were an amazing event today!
