I hated to do it but I had to mow. So many delicate wild plants with lovely dainty flowers were appearing. But... as pretty as the developing meadow was if I didn't mow it would very quickly turn back to forest.
A mullein patch is developing in one area. Very impressive looking plant and valuable herb for soothing inflammation especially of the respiratory system.
Even a patch of black eyed Susan are appearing along one side of the fence.
There will be lots of good wood ash for the compost and garden from all the brush burning.
