Growing up we watched many Laurel and Harvey movies, featuring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, short black and white home movie reel films on a white bed sheet up against a wall in our local scout hall.
Another highlight was The Three Stooges featuring Larry Fine, Curly Howard and Moe Howard.

We did not have television in our youth, this entertainment was shared by a community member in the village who owned a reel to reel machine for viewing.
During the 1980's Dinner For One started appearing on South African television channels, television came to South Africa in the beginning of 1976, an annual skit on New Years Eve each year for approximately 20 years, when stopped by the local broadcast company, my brother kept a copy to be watched every New Year!

Today I laughed/cried, for the first time in a long time, reminding me of fun times, joy laughter, mischief, missing loved ones, it all boils down to one thing we need to stop and laugh at ourselves.
