"Be willing to step outside your comfort zone once in a while; take the risks in life that seem worth taking. The ride might not be as predictable if you'd just planted your feet and stayed put, but it will be a heck of a lot more interesting". Edward Whitacre, Jr.
When I was younger I used to dislike motorcycles, I thought they were extremely dangerous, and I was afraid to get on one. This was until my boyfriend bought his first motorcycle in Augoust 2014, I thought he just lost his mind. I remember he was practicing near his house and then he told me: "Come on, let's go for a ride". We went to the highway, he was still a newbie and my legs were shaking; even though I was nervous, I thought: "Wait a minute, this guy knows what he's doing, he won't risk your life, you're wearing a helmet and he's not going fast, so you won't die today. Just relax and enjoy the ride."
It took me a couple of days to get used to this new vehicle; the motorcycle became our means of transportation to go everywhere. I didn't know how this was going to change our life for better. We used the subway and bus since we didn't have a car but now we have a motorcycle so we can go everywhere we want. We didn't have to depend on someone else to go to a place anymore.
Suddenly, I fell in love with the adrenaline, the speed, that sense of freedom you won't find anywhere else but on a motorcycle. I could see everything from another perspective. The mountains, the sky, the clouds, the sunsets, the buildings, the whole city, everything was more alive and I was entranced with the view.
In 2015, I thought "if my boyfriend can ride a motorcycle, why not me?" So I decided I wanted to learn to ride. Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone and try new things, you never know if you can be good at something if you don't try. Nowadays I have my own moto, and I'm proud of myself for taking this new step in my life. Now I feel more confident and free. This is just the beginning of new adventours and ways to discover the world.
"I want to challenge you today to get out of your comfort zone. You have so much incredible potential on the inside. God has put gifts and talents in you that you probably don't know anything about". Joel Osteen.
