Right on. In the tradition of Hinduism I practice we call the present era, "Kali Yuga" which basically can be translated as, "The Era of Hypocrisy and Irreligiousity." so I think it's vital that we keep ourselves sorted and in contact with Godhead as much as possible. I think the most important thing is to remember that God loves us and that he comes swiftly to our aid when we are in peril. It's all about maintaining that personal relationship with the creator. That overcomes all obstacles.
