HOPE THIS WEEKS A GOOD ONE
I've never been a massive fan of fish tanks, I'm a dog person and always have been but a few years ago hubby set up a Turtle tank with Musk and Cooter Turtles, Now I'm a Dog & Turtle person. I have taken over feeding the turtles as it gives me sometime to myself with them, Ive got most of them coming to the top of the tank for there first few mouthfuls, they have all been really gentle, we have one Musk Turtle that doesn't like loud noises or suprises so have to be really gentle with her. We have 2 Cooters that have the grumpiest faces whilst the 4 Musk have happy smiley faces, especially the baby one, he's my favourite.
Just look at that gorgeous cute little face, how couldn't you fall in love with that. He's called Jack after one of the actors in mine and my daughters favourite series SUPERNATURAL. The 2 Cooters are the biggest so they are called Crowley & Rowena they are the evil ones where as the 3 same sized Musk are the leads on the series Dean, Sam & The Angel Castiel then the little one is Jack, He ends up being God.
I could sit and watch these all night, they are so much fun plus better than the rubbish that we get on the TV. They make us laugh with some of there antics.
This Turtle that's getting a ride us always doing this, they are different species but get on really well with each other.
They are so relaxed with us now possibly thinking that we are the pets as they are quite often staring at us. The only bad thing about these is they don't really make good friends as can be very bitey and scratch. The Cooters don't mind coming out of the tank for a little while and they don't mind the odd shell stroke but not to much whereas the Musk don't like ccoming out of the tank as they get stressed then let of a nasty smell. They wouldn't be very good pets for children but for a 61 year Me they are great, hubby laughs at me as I talk to them whilst I feed them, I think they like it as they come to my voice or probably it's the smell of there food. I'm not going to stop talking to them as I like it.
I wish we had bought then years ago,I would have loved to have been more involved with them. I do read alot about them constantly asking Mr Google questions,I have found out quite a bit about them.
I post them on Tiktok and get a lot of questions about them my first reply is if your thinking about getting them do as much research as you can on everything about them what they like and don't like doing, food, how long they live, size they grow etc. Thru are cute and a lot of fun to watch but also there's a lot of hardwork keeping them and the home they live in, we still have a play area to build for the Cooters, there is a ramp in the tank where they can sit under the heat lamp but they also like to walk around so making a safe area for them to stretch there legs is important,We are busy doing this now, its not hard just best to be aware of.
The more research you do the better parent you are to any animal.
Thank you for visiting 💟💟
