I can't wait for the day I hit 8,000 followers! Or who knows maybe one day I'll be at a 1,000,000,000 Hahaha! This feels more special than a Birthday honestly!
TIPS For getting more followers!
Write Quality content
Or try to write quality content! I noticed some of my earlier posts weren't perfect, And heck none of my posts are perfect these days either. But trying to provide value to the platform is important!
What can you do for the reader?
- Inspire?
- Give advice?
- Teach?
Have a goal to every post. I write mini "layouts" of each post. That's my secret to writing lots. Basically a mini list of items that I want to talk about in each post. It makes things a million times easier!
Don't be afraid of taking out some paper and brainstorming topics. Just write down everything that comes to mind without judgment until your later review!
Comment Comment Comment
Respond to comments on your blog, Respond to other peoples posts. Just add as much value as you can to the platform. Don't write stuff like;
"Check out my post pls"
Instead add value, And heck if you have a post related to the one you are reading, You can sometimes leave a link without coming off as being too "salesy".
No one wants to be "sold to" People would rather choose to buy.
Write consistently
I know things "come up". I'm the one to talk because lately I've been less consistent, But I'm working towards fixing that. I am trying to hurry up and scale my business for Q4.
But your followers will expect consistent posts from you. Plus when you post consistently people will see you constantly in their feed. In the "new" section. People will later follow you.
Build up Reputation
When you first start off, your goal shouldn't be to "followers" It should be more about building your reputation. To be honest, I'm less likely to upvote someone who has 30-40 reputation compared to someone in the 50-70's. It goes with the element of trust. You are more likely to upvote someone in a higher range because they have provided enough value to receive some upvotes.
This is a big reason I try to upvote comments frequently. To help give a few people a "boost" for my every post!
I hope these quick tips helped!
I'm so thankful to be in the 4,000 follower tier! I am so grateful!
