So many people only have such a vague idea of what they want to do with their lives. While there are millions of things you can do and be in life, It's understandable that you can't just layout everything you want to do in your life in one afternoon. So many of us think that for us to move in a specific direction, we need to know exactly where we want to go.
Where Does Your Effort Go?
We all put some effort into our lives, Whether it's at our jobs, At home. Or into our families.
Do those correspond to your long-term goals?
But the problem is, Many of us don't' even have long-term goals.
Where Do You See Yourself?
Where are you in 10 years, Five years, two years?
Many of us don't sit and think about it. Add up your age, now think about it.
If you could have ANYTHING you've ever wanted, What would you want?
This is a good starting step to making long-term goals.
Example
In 2 years I'll be 27 Years Old.
I would like to be married by then. And traveling a ton!
I would still want to be self-employed. Maybe have a cute little house by the beach. I would want to have lots of extra time to do ART every day! I would hope that I still have my awesome Shirt business and my blog on Steemit! With lots more hikes, Bike rides and travels documented. I'm hoping by then to start volunteering to help clean up our oceans And do more to help others.
In 5 years I'll be 30 Years Old.
By then I'd like to have a very strong foundation down with my business, To where most of my tasks that I don't enjoy doing, Are outsourced. Of course still blogging here on Steemit.
Maybe even have that cute beach house I bought, Paid off.
Traveling around the world, and testing myself in many ways. Running marathons. And trying new things! Maybe I could have some new hobbies.
It's quite easy to layout what we want When we avoid thinking about all of the limitations that we have, Of course though. If we want to make these things a reality we also have to take action.
Everyday Habits
What can you do every day to get to the exact life that you want! Sadly when we think of making big changes in our life, We are more focused on making big changes.
These big changes intimidate us and make us avoid the very thing that could get us closer to our goals. Which are daily habits!
Consistency and what you do daily add up to everything you will do with your life.
If you want to be a writer... Read and write every day.
Want to pay off your house? Start paying a little extra every month on your bill. And if you can, Try and work an extra 10 minutes at work each day.
Changing your routine, so it reflects your values, And long-term goals. Adds up in so many unexpected ways.
We waste so much of our time and effort pursuing the wrong thing; This is why it's important to get a rough idea of what we want, So we can start pursuing it. Don't waste your efforts on "anything." Direct it in the place you want to go.
