We always assume these things will make us happy, But the reality is, They won't.
The People Around You
If you think that the people around you will determine how happy you are, You are only right to an extent.
While you are a sum of the five people, you spend the most time with, And you can influence your happiness by keeping toxic people away.
The people around you are NOT responsible for your happiness!
Besides no one can live up to your expectations. Or do the things you want them to do.
Money
Your next paycheck, Your next purchase. Are things that can make you TEMPORARILY HAPPY. But eventually your happiness will die down, and you'll require that constant "fix" to maintain that happiness. And if anything were to happen like you losing your job, Or you buying everything you could want. You won't be happy anymore.
Stuff
Ever heard of the "bright shiny object" Syndrome? It's easy to be really happy when you get something new! But once that initial joy fades away, You will feel unhappy again. That new item you got may collect dust somewhere.
External Factors
This is a very general idea, Which can be broken into many separate parts. We tend to base happiness on what is happening in our lives on the OUTSIDE. But if we do this, We will never be happy, Because something will always be wrong.
I"m not saying if a family member passes or of something horrific happens to you, You should immediately put a smile on your face and move on, But if you are consistently unhappy, it may be somethings that are going on on the INSIDE. Not the out.
Happiness is YOUR Responsibility. Not the responsibility of your girlfriend/boyfriend, Not the responsibility of your employer.
